Hello everyone,
After quite some time, I’ve finally made some more progress on Mondstadt. I’ve now managed to recreate a few tricky sections quite accurately, which I’d like to show in more detail below.
First, the small park to the left of the Favonius Knights’ HQ and the general area around that spot.
This has been one of the most complicated parts of the project so far, since the HQ is positioned at a 45° angle very close to the outer wall, and the wall at that spot is also much thinner and lower than in the front area. Simply representing this with bricks felt too crude to me. After a lot of tinkering, I was able to position the park as a separate segment so that it lies slightly offset within panels, creating a very thin, low wall. I did something similar with the HQ, but at an angle; the wall itself stays quite stable thanks to a hinge, and the HQ fits perfectly without any visible gaps.
Also new are the buildings in the center; the larger one, with the green roof, is positioned at a 45° angle, along with the raised platform on which it stands. The other building is also slightly offset with panels so as not to interrupt the light gray wall next to the stairs. Unlike the previous modules, these two buildings are fixed to the base and cannot be removed.
From the other side, you can clearly see that the sloped platform is integrated relatively seamlessly, and I again used the building technique with wedged panels for the wide staircase.
Among other things, the relatively new 1x2 tiles with a 45° edge, were a huge help in implementing the unconventional building techniques. I also replaced the water in the fountain with a small flame in transparent blue to better represent the water.
